Sowerby Bridge
Sowerby Bridge is a town, situated in the Upper Calder Valley of West Yorkshire in England. At the confluence of the River Calder and River Ryburn, Sowerby Bridge became a crossing point for passages to and from Lancashire. The town is also situated at the meeting of the Rochdale Canal which was opened in 1804 by William Jessop and measures 33 miles and incorporates 92 locks and the Calder & Hebble Navigation which runs from Wakefield to Sowerby Bridge. There is Sowerby Bridge Arts Festival known as artSBridge and Sowerby Bridge Chronicle newspaper.
