Skipton is a town in North Yorkshire, England. Near Kettlewell village, sitting on the River Aire and south of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Skipton is a bustling market town and a gateway to the Yorkshire Dales between Craven Limestone Dales and the Ribble Valley. The town comes complete with Skipton Castle, a 900 year old medieval fortress and one of England’s best preserved castles. Skipton offers exploration of the Yorkshire Dales via the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway with drop-offs at Bolton Abbey and the Cavendish Pavilion, Parcevall Hall Gardens (which displays an array of beautiful plants and flowers by the late Sir William Milner), Kilnsey Park and Broughton Hall Estate.
