Sedbergh is a town in Yorkshire, England. Situated within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and equidistant of Kendal and Kirby Lonsdale, Sedbergh is placed well at the foothills of Howgill Fells. The town’s history was built on farming and the production of wool, which was sent to nearby mills to make yarn for clothing, evidence of this can be found at Fairfield Mill Arts and Heritage Centre nearby. Also here is Sedburgh Church of St Andrew which dates back to the 12^th century along with the remains of a Motte and Bailey Castle which existed during Saxon times. The Grade II listed Church of St. Gregory built by Miss Frances Upton in 1860 and Grade II listed Ingmire Hall – though a private residence, still exist here. Annual events in the town are Sedergh Gala, Sedbergh & District Spring Show and Sedbergh Music festival. Sedbergh is also England’s Book Town.
