Oban
Oban is a small town in the north of Scotland. Ideally located, the town is a tourist hub for visitors to Helenburgh, Fort William, Kerrara, Lismore and the Isle of Mull. Places to visit here are Dunollie Castle - which stands just outside the town and has been fortified since the Bronze Age, Oban distillery - established in 1794 is one of the smallest in Scotland and McCaig’s Tower. During World War II, Oban played an important role as a base for the Merchant & Royal Navy and nearby there was a Royal Air Force Flying Boat Base. More recently, Oban is well known as the seafood capital of Scotland.
