Monmouth is a town in Monmouthshire, Wales. Situated at the meetings of the River Monnow and River Wye. During Roman settlements, Monmouth was the site of a small Roman Fort – Blestium, but it even pre-dates Roman times when a discovery was made of a Bronze Age Boat Building community. To see here is the Monmouth Music Festival - an annual 9-day event, Monmouth Museum, the Regiment Museum – housed within the Great Castle House, Monmouthshire show & Monmouth Women’s Festival - both annual events, Monmouth Castle and the small Savoy Theatre – perhaps the oldest theatre in Wales.
