Longton
Longton

Longton is a village within Lancashire, England. An ancient village, it is thought that St Andrew’s Chapel pre-dates 1517 and during the Middle Ages the village was referred to as ‘a sort of holy land’ due to the monks of Penwortham Priory tending to their land here. More recently the Longton Brickcroft, previously a brickworks has been declared a Local Nature Reserve and is of great interest to botanists and birdwatchers alike. There is also here, a small Nuclear Observation Bunker in a relatively un-known location in a field to the North West of the village.
