Kirk Yetholm
Kirk Yetholm

Kirk Yetholm is a village in the Borders of Scotland. The village, near to the Cheviot Hills is in-fact one of two villages which make up Yetholm. Standing on the banks of the River Bowmont, Kirk Yetholm was once a major home to the Kings & Queens of the Romani gypsies, they have since integrated into the local population, but the Gypsy Palace can still be seen from Kirk Yetholm Green. The area surrounding the village has evidence of early occupation dating back to ancient times. Two bronze shields were discovered which are dated 1150 – 750 BC and are currently on display at the National Museum of Edinburgh. In the village there is Kirk Yetholm - The Border Hotel which is used as a stop over by many doing the Pennine Way. Kirk Yeyholm is Eco Cycle Adventures friendly.
