Haugh of Urr is a village in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland. Only a few miles from Dalbeattie, Haugh of Urr is situated on the Urr Water. A pretty village with white-harled cottages and buildings which line the streets. Haugh of Urr Stores is a one-stop-shop offering a post office, off-licence, newsagent and general store. There is also the Laurie Arms Hotel, which is keeping with the other buildings, Urr Hall & Library and Urr Parish Church. A short distance away, you will find Motte of Urr, a well preserved motte and bailey earth work castle site which may pre-date 1100’s.
