Harewood is a village in North Yorkshire, England. The village is between Leeds and Harrogate, connected by the main road that travels through the heart of the village. Two of the most prominent features in the village is the historic Grade II listed Harewood House and Gardens, which is the venue for many events in the village, including The Great British Food Festival and the Festival of Cycling. Harewood Gardens include a bird garden complete with penguins, owls, parrots and pheasants. The other main feature being, Harewood Speed Hill Climb – the UK’s longest motorsport hill climb and host to national events and championships. Harewood’s TV claim to fame comes in the form of a purpose built set, ‘Emmerdale’ village, a life size replica of Esholt, where exterior scenes were shot since 1998.
