Corbridge is a village in Northumberland, England, just 4 miles east of Hexham. During Roman times, this was a garrison town, known as Corstopitum, for Roman soldiers and a safe passing place over the River Tyne, the bridge here is the oldest of the mediaeval bridges. Corbridge is most northerly town of the Roman Empire and is known as the jewel in Northumberland’s crown. The medieval street plan and Saxon Church still stand proud today. Attractions here are The Stanegate, Roman Site, parish church of St. Andrew and the boutique shops. Corbridge is Eco Cycle Adventures friendly.
