Bamburgh
Bamburgh

Bamburgh is a large village within Northumberland, England. It is a village famed for the magnificent Bamburgh Castle which was home to the Kings of Northumbria. The beaches here are also popular and in 2005, they were awarded the Blue Flag rural beach award. Bamburgh’s other claim to fame lies with the heroine – Grace Darling, the daughter of Bamburgh’s Lighthouse keeper, who, together, saved many from the ship-wreck Forfarshire in 1838. Grace was buried here and her memorial can be found at St Aiden’s Church. Bamburgh is Eco Cycle Adventures friendly.
