Auldgirth is a village within the Dumfries & Galloway district of Scotland. Nearby are the beautiful Threave Castle & Gardens, Dalswinton Estate Walled Garden, Dumlanrigg Castle and Buccleuch Estate. Auldgirth is most popular for its fishing and salmon fishing is prevailent on the River Nith, close by Black wood Estate has its own fish hatchery. The very well known 7Staines mountain bike trail centre at Ae is a great attraction. Within the village it-self is the The Auldgirth Inn which dates back over 500 years was the ‘local’ for Robert Burn – Scotland’s favourite son, poet and lyricist. Aulgirth is Eco Cycle Adventures friendly.
