WoW! How busy is the Sandstone Way Cycle Route these days!

Designed by Ted Little and initially funded by Northumberland National Park Authority, Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Project, Northumberland County Council and Tyne Valley Mountain Bike Club. The route was launched in March after five years of planning and was the first of its kind. Marketed at mountain bikers of all ages, the new 120-mile cycle route links Berwick and Hexham via the market towns of Bellingham, Rothbury and Wooler. The route traverses through an amazing ever-changing landscape which is rich in history, geological features and iconic scenery.

Seven months on from its launch, the route is proving a success with locals and tourists wanting to explore the beautiful Northumbrian landscape.
