Maryport is a town within Cumbria, England. Its history ranges from Roman & medieval times through to Georgian and Victorian times. During these times it was the supply and command base for the Romans, Maryport Light House was built, an iron foundry opened and the Maryport & Carlisle Railway was constructed. Tourist attractions here include the Senhouse Roman Museum & the Maritime Museum.
