Bowness-on-Solway is a small village in Cumbria, England. The village is situated on the Solway Firth, west of Carlisle. At the western side of Hadrian’s Wall, Bowness-on-Solway was the site of the second largest Roman Fort, Maia and is within Solway’s coast Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty. Bowness-on-Solway has become a tourist attraction for many who appreciate the heritage, scenery and wildlife that surrounds it.
